2. By offering the undergraduate B.A. in Mathematics Course, the department seeks to keep up with the equivalent colleges that have left their mark in the field of Mathematics and sensitize students to the wider world of Numbers and digits.

3.To transcend their knowledge of Mathematical skill and  aptitude which would meet the needs of the dynamic career and professional demands.

4.To impart the various technical skills of assessing and analyzing Mathematical skills of different types and build a sensibility of appreciating Mathematics in day to day life.

Semester wise action plan for Teaching

Admission Policy: The Admission process has been undertaken by the admission committee constituted as per guidelines of the college authority. Merit is considered on the result of the last exam appeared by the candidate and specially marks obtained in Mathematics for taking admission in Mathematics as a subject.

Counseling and qualifying test for Major Students: The Dept. of Maths initiates a qualifying test (written) for taking Mathematics as a subject  among those willing students having 45% in the concerned subject in the last final exam.

Action Plan: The department takes a lot of measures to increase the enrolment and make students' results better.

Counseling:

1.Counseling is considered to be a key aspect by the department for smooth running of the teaching learning process. In the very beginning of the new session or induction program has been undertaken by the faculties of the department expecting that students of the Maths  department can easily access the course.

2.Remedial classes have been initiated for the slow learners selecting on the basis of their performance in the internal assessment.

3.Flexibility of departmental class routine has been maintained as per requirement of the students of concerned dept.

4.Both financial and psychological support have been provided in case of poor students sent to those having mental stress.

Class Allotment:

Every year a departmental annual meeting is organized by the department of Maths. All the faculty members’ presence in the meeting is mandatory. In this meeting the course has been distributed equally among the faculty members (paper wise). It is also mentioned that in every academic session the topic in every allotment to each faculty member has to be changed. The HOD presides over the annual departmental meeting.Various departmental and inter departmental seminars, group discussion, educational tour & project work have been practiced by the dept. for all round enrichment of the students of the department.

Detection of slow learners and steps taken for them:

1.Admission of students is done in the College based on the academic performance of other previous examinations. Yet we are facing a lack of equality input.

2.Slow learners are identified on the basis of classroom intersections, assignments and performance in the sessional exam specially.

Steps Taken: To improve the quality of the slow learners generally we arranged some remedial measures, such as-

i).Remedial special classes are arranged for the slow learners.

ii).Giving some homework to prepare notes for her/his syllabus.

iii).Attempting to make them free and frank regarding their quarries and problems.

iv).Arrangement of khata of remedial attendance.

v).They are providing study materials.

Student’s feedback and action taken report:

Feedback is collected from our passed out students both by offline and online methods. Format for feedback are compiled with the issue of teachers punctuality, communication skill, friendly behavior, using TLM in class etc. and feedback for the department and institution at a large from the feedback the department of English has been trying to improve demanded by the students feedback for making it more friendly and helpful to the students of the college.

Initiative Practices  taken by the department:

1.Teachers Exchange Program:

Teachers Exchange Program serves as a cultural learning experience for the teachers and as a means for expanding and enriching an educator’s pedagogic expertise. Keeping in mind the department of Maths, Udali College has decided to introduce this program with the different colleges. Apart from this inter departmental teachers exchange a program has also been conducted by the department among the faculty members of the College.

Group Discussion: Group discussion of the Maths department includes in every paper. Group discussion makes students more clear about the topic taught by the teacher. After that, if they have confusion about the topic they can ask their teachers any questions. So, it is beneficial for them. After their discussion, they get marks or grades when teachers ask something about the topic.

Extension Activities of our Department

Our Department has so far arranged many programs for the development of the students, faculty and the college and the society. Our department always shows keen interest in enhancing research based activities and Mathematical skill development Programs. The Department always tries to improve the numerical  skills of the students by organizing various skill development courses and programs. To build the students excellence in Mathematics the department takes the following steps:

  1. To develop students' skill the department of Maths attempts to publish Wall Magazine every year. For this purpose the department published Wall Magazine in the session 2022-2023.

  1. To increase the knowledge of numerical skill  department endeavours to publish Departmental Magazine in every session. For this intention the department  published Departmental Magazine from the session  2022-2023.

  1. For the better numerical skill the Maths department also take initiative to conduct the Practical classes based on different mathematic tools regularly and ensures that the fear of the students towards Maths should be marginalized.

Best Practices of the Department:

*The faculties of the Department visits select nearby Junior Colleges(12th Standard) at least once a month to help develop the student’s Mathematical  skill and have friendly bond with the institutions for future collaborations. We take it as our duty to help the rural students to remove their Maths phobia and make them confident to acquire the Mathematical skill.

*After the commencement of the NEP-2020 the Department has been trying to help the student get their Dig-locker accounts for the purpose of Academic Bank of Credit. We  have made it our departmental best practice for the coming few years until each and every student have their accounts and know the importance of it.
